I feel lesser in value/less than human, so having it/its used for me feels affirming and comforting.

I use Interlink by Binary Outcast. It's a fork of the old Thunderbird. I started using it because I was also using a UXP-based browser at the time, so I thought it was neat that both my browser and mail client were running on the same engine. (Yes, that's a very lame reason, I know.)

It fetches my mail and syncs any changes back using IMAP on Dovecot. The replies are then sent over SMTP running on Postfix. I also use the Lightning extension which adds a calendar tab, which is kept in sync using the Inverse SOGo Connector to a Radicale instance over CalDAV.

This all works just fine, and I like the way the interface looks and works, so I haven't found a reason to switch to anything else. It doesn't get updated much, but since e-mail isn't really a moving target, I don't see it ceasing to work any time soon either.

Edit: Also, on mobile, I use K-9 Mail, because I think the Holo interface is pretty.

You can get an anonymous stored value card, and then put money on it by inserting coins into a machine, or paying with paper money at a service desk (which incurs a € 0,50 fee). But both of those aren't available at all stations, so it's very inconvenient.

I think the most common way to use it now is to associate it with a bank account, either in prepaid (automatic top-up) or postpaid (monthly invoice) mode. There's also machines at supermarkets that let you transfer money from a debit card to the stored value card. As of late, you can also use a debit or credit card in place of the stored value card. But all of those methods require a bank account.

There's an eShop alternative called hShop. Of course, Nintendo is within their rights to shut it down, but for now, the games are still available over there.

The pictures the NFTs refer to. When the trend first took off, they were on images that were already popular and widely shared. Now that people are making shitty drawings for the sole purpose of selling NFTs on them, there's a fat chance of the picture disappearing from the internet and the NFT becoming useless.

Doesn't this only make the NFTs more useful? Having them all backed-up in one handy torrent ensures their longevity.

Their stance used to be “We won't read your private stories, unless they happen to come up during debugging. Our guidelines only apply if you decide to publish to the Explore page.” For them to suddenly take a 180° on this felt like a huge violation of trust.

I understand why these filters are needed, but they should be optional and transparent. As it stands, it's even interfering with playing the game normally: It's a simple keyword filter, so cursing or flying a plane (cockpit) around children is a no-go. You only get a vague (and frankly condescending) error message, which makes it hard to figure out what to edit to continue playing.

It's really unfortunate that there are no proper alternatives at the moment. OpenAI's ToS prohibits the kind of free interaction with the AI that AiD allows, so you won't be able to start a competitor using the same models. (Latitude got an exception by virtue of getting in early.) The current freely available models are much worse than GPT-3. EleutherAI is currently gearing up to train a competing model, but even when that gets released, it'll be much too large to run on consumer hardware.

It's ridiculous that this feature took so long to arrive. Before this, YouTubers had to upload the video to a second test channel, to see if it would get blocked. (And even that wasn't perfect, since sometimes the video would pass on the test channel but would get claimed on the main one.) It won't protect creators from manual claims, but it's a lot better than not being warned at all.

Are YouTube's rules too harsh, or is it simply necessary for appeasing rightsholders and advertisers?

I do. Sailfish has been the most usable OS in my experience. I wish I'd have gotten a real Jolla phone instead. The Pinephone works, but it's got plenty of annoying issues, such as the radios having trouble getting back up after standby. I hope those issues get fixed, since it's a pretty good experience when it does work.
