Myself personally, I've been into The Cull by Kelly Thompson and Mattia de Iulis, and Finger Guns by Justin Richards and Val Halvorson. They're two high concept YA books, but the different art styles are interesting to compare, Cull with the more realistic art to contrast the weird landscapes and creatures, and Finger Guns with a much more cartoonish art that underscores the more serious themes. Interesting comparison in tone.

Is weekly comic check-ins something we are interested in? I've been trying to post more to ~comics to get some more foot traffic in this corner of the website, but I'm not interested in posting into the void for my benefit.

Personally I would be fine with just combining a weekly comic thread with the already existing weekly manga thread. They are literally the same thing, though I understand how the methods for consuming them usually leads to there being two separate subcultures discussing them.

Yeah, this goes back to the lump/split divide Tildes has, where ~anime and ~books have some overlap with ~comics, but an all encompassing ~content tilde becomes unwieldy. Book club might also work for proper graphic novels, but I'll put this thread out there for a few weeks more.
