Best news sources and blogs to keep you informed about IT and Software Development

To be honest, I've bookmarked many but I'm too busy to actually read any of them! But from now onwards, I've decided to give them a try at least once each day, I just want to know from you which ones are better sources of information and which aren't. Feel free to add more to this list. In no particular order:

Agreed. There is absolutely no shortage of cool new projects out there and if I had to integrate them all into my mental model I'd be totally overwhelmed. I rely on getting my information from a couple of tech communities based around projects I'm already invested in - if it's relevant to someone else in the community then it's more likely to be relevant to me.

Somewhat related but perhaps worth mentioning is something I came across today: The PARA method. This is a way of making sense of all the information supplied by the interwebs by filing them into one of the four sections: Projects (Short term goals), Areas (Long term goals), Resources and Archives.

    • GitHub Home is actually pretty good(?). Maybe I just follow interesting people. I would say it is more relevant to me than the HackerNews firehose of content. Although I still look at the first two pages of HN everyday of the previous day.
    • LinkLonk is also pretty good

I think I picked it up from an article posted here on Tildes, but Simon Willison's blog made it into my feed reader, and I have found it to be a useful addition for tracking news about AI stuff. The commentary is useful, timely, and concise, and he often posts interesting quotes as well, which is close to my heart.
