Any other Savannah Bananas fans here? I personally think they're what baseball needs more of to reinvigorate the sport. And I hope they eventually come to Toronto at some point so I can have an opportunity to go to one of their games. My buddy got to see them in Arizona a few days ago, which I'm super jealous of.

p.s. They stream a lot of their exhibition games on YouTube, for those who want to see what the craziness is all about. It looks like a lot of fun. :)

I love the Bananas! I'm not a baseball fan, I haven't watched a game since getting tickets to the last Cardinals (post season) game in Old Busch Stadium in college. I've never been a fan of watching it in the way I can get into other sports.

Except I've watched 3 whole banana ball games this year (including the one in Minute Maid) and so many clips. Because it's fun. Just genuinely fun. And the players are having fun. And their charity is for foster families and called Bananas Foster. ಥ_ಥ

Plus I like that the games are legit games amidst the chaos. I think I'd probably enjoy going in person much less (the fans seem absolutely wasted) but I'm nowhere near them so it doesn't matter.

LOL, that charity name is perfect!!! They certainly have knack for with coming up with catchy names. :P They regularly go on tour around the US now, so they might actually be playing at a stadium...

but I'm nowhere near them so it doesn't matter.

They regularly go on tour around the US now, so they might actually be playing at a stadium near you at some point in the next year or two. The tickets usually sell out well in advance though, so if you do decide to see them live you typically gotta buy them well ahead of time: https://thesavannahbananas.com/events/list/

I think they sell tickets on a lottery system at the start of the season now, or at least that’s what they did this year. I did not get the chance to buy a ticket for the games near me...

I did not get the chance to buy a ticket for the games near me unfortunately :(

Ah, I didn't realize they were already being forced to use a waitlist and lottery system. Crazy they've become so popular already! Well deserved though.

Right I'm aware, but I'm not near their tours and don't love being hot, sweaty and around drunk people.

Hah, fair enough. I'm extremely uncomfortable in large crowds (I'm agoraphobic and have panic attacks), but I still put up with them sometimes if the event is worthy enough. And the Bananas playing in my area would qualify for me, personally. ;)
