    This supports the theory of one of my favorite books on luck is Bo Peabody's Lucky or Smart?, which posits that the key factor to success is luck, and the true skill is in simply recognizing when you're getting lucky and capitalizing on it instead of squandering it.

    I think part of the reason more people don't talk about the outsize effect of luck is because you kind of sound like an asshole. "I made millions, and it was all luck," sounds really shitty to someone who is struggling in their career - not only are people doing better than you, but it's through no particular skills of theirs!
