Almost 17 minutes! What an epic. I'm digging the hell out of this song and, much like Coheed's 9 minute songs 21:13 and The Light and the Glass , it almost doesn't feel like one long slog, but many acts of one song. And that's my favorite part of prog music. A single cohesive, but ambitious, long ass song. Periphery bailed from Sumerian Records to adopt their own independent publisher, 3DOT. And man was that a great idea. This track alone is greatly indicative of how much these guys have come, and it sounds grandiose.

It really feels like Periphery has fully accepted their mantle of ridicule from metal purists and aren't letting any of them rain on their desire to innovate and break the mold. This song is proof of that. The fact that they didn't stretch it to 17 just because feels like, to me, that they knew they had created something good, and that this was sufficient for their vision. What an exciting album.
