Tomorrow will mark the 9th day the government is trying to negociate and end the strike, which was initially ignored by the government. However, by the 5th day, gas stations started to run out of gasoline and diesel. Now things are somewhat better in some cities. Where I live, all gas stations have ran out of gasoline for now. If people learn that a gas station got a delivery, people flock to that gas station, which is quite useless, since deliveries are limited to 5.000 litres of gasoline.

Our sitting president, Michel Temer, underestimated the power of these autonomous truckers, who now know how much leverage they have against the Brazilian government. It should be mentioned, if you don't know Brazilian politics, Michel Temer is the most unpopular president since people elect presidents (1990), and he has been found to be in corruption schemes.

That said, some of the concessions given are unacceptable. Since our law requires a surplus, the government will need to find new ways to fill the gap of some 9.8bn brazilian reais by removing taxes among other measures. Some of these measures have yet to be announced by the government.
