This is a good article, it seems like we might be heading to some Pacific equivalent of NATO. But my main takeaway was we're giving Japan (/this command) 150 F-35s.
Got me to look up numbers and China has ~300 of their 5th gen fighters, the US has ~1000 F35s. I feel like even knowing the US is absolutely dominant militarily, every time I see actual numbers it's still surprising.
