A new investigation by Gothamist/WNYC and The Appeal has found that prosecutors across New York City are sweeping critical information about officer credibility under the rug. Their reporting finds that when cases are pleaded out or resolved early, DAs are often failing to preserve internal evidence of police dishonesty, allowing problem officers to continue making arrests and testifying against defendants.

(disclosure: I work for WNYC in a non-editorial capacity and had no involvement with this story.)
