I have a friend who speaks English as a second language, and she always ends her messages with two periods. Like this..
I asked her about it and she said that's how you indicate the conversation is ongoing. I thought she meant an ellipses but nope. She swears up and down this is a thing.
I'm a native English speaker. I know this isn't a thing.
I think her other languages are Korean, Japanese, and a third I forget the name of, I think it's spoken in Pakistan. Is it something carried over from one of those?

I bounced off both Factorio and DSP.
Factorio to me if very drab and gloomy. I don't find the color pallete visually appealing, and the game is very much centered on logistics. Very little design.
DSP almost gives me a headache. Everything seems too small. I feel like how (I think) some people do when the FOV is super low in an FPS. I don't know how else to explain it.
Satisfactory to me has neither of those issues. It's a colorful, big building factory game with a fun world to explore. Some people knock the emphasis the game allows you to have on aesthetics, but it's probably my favorite part of it. The first person element means I get to literally walk through my factories too, which is awesome.

I mean I can't see how long term other countries are going to continue to stand for five countries having a monopoly on international discussion, able to dismiss any concerns risen against them.

Two were pure bred German Shepherds; the brother weighed 120 lbs, the sister weighed 100 lbs. The third was a Chow-Chow / Newfoundland mix, and she was like 80 lbs.
The third night there was a rabbit.
I weigh 120 lbs.

The only thing I ever gather from these types of articles is that electric companies end up having to pay out.
-
I don't really get why the electric companies have to pay people money. If they're not using your power, you're not charging them. But it's not like homeowners are sending electric companies a bill?
-
Would a local government really let a power company go out of business because of solar? I mean they're the guys that make electricity, can't really let them fold like any other company.

Comment on Why don't governments invest in their own dating apps? Would you use one? in ~life
ACEmat I know it's not as straight forward as this, but another thing I thought of is that a government run app would have more or less easy access to background checks for people who sign up.plus there are bad people out there, and policing it too much or not enough are both politically fraught.

I've thought about this off and on for like a year.
It, as far as I know, seems well documented that populations are struggling with dating and marriages, especially in the younger generations. A lot of people attribute it to things like finances, working hours, cost of living, etc, but also the abysmal online dating circus. People don't seem to go out with the intention of meeting people as much, and so most turn to apps like Tinder, Bumble, and Hinge. But with these apps basically monopolized by the Match group, and none of the parent companies have an actual incentive to get people off the app, it seems like a ripe opportunity for governments everywhere to try and fill in the gap.
As they don't have the investor profit motive, but they do have a very strong motive for people to get together, have relationships, marriages, eventually babies. And this is just a baseless claim on my part, but I imagine it could be stimulating to local economies as more people go on dates. I know at least my ass doesn't go anywhere really when I'm single.

The lights on the Eiffel Tower are considered an art, and therefore under copyright. Technically that copyright law is still in effect until the artist's death + 70 years. You can take night photos, but you can't monetize them, or use them commercially.
Oh I think it's adorable, I just wasn't sure where it came from.
