Fine work skeleton. You got gud.

Ornstein and Smough is such a rite of passage that there's little that matches the tense skill check of that fight, even with Elden Ring.

It's also the peak of the first game so it's good you went to the DLC after because the rest of the base game remains a bit of a slog.

Dark Souls 2 again feels a lot different than 1 and Elden Ring and if anything I recommend reading up on ADP (adaptability) as a skill because it affects your roll and i-frames.

Keep up the good work, and don't you dare go hollow.

It's odd because he 180'd on that specific statement by straight up recommending refunding and negatively reviewing. I wonder what happened in between.

An actual good game plagued by a barrier of entry. The other Arena games and MOBAs were simply both easier and cheaper to get into.

Reddit subreddits consistently collapse in quality as soon as they hit some arbitrarily decided critical point in subscriber count.

I wouldn't expect anything else, but that also means I do not think they're necessarily worse than others simply by virtue of most large subreddits being sort of frustrating.

The Discord (barring General Chat 1) is actually quite alright most of the time. Some whinging when weapons get the stick is to be expected but it's not insufferable.
YouTube videos are generally well considered, Twitch streamers seem to mostly behave, and the in game community has been one of the most pleasant I've been a part of in a loooong while.

Maybe I'm in too deep, or maybe I just don't see it, but none of the antics by the community at large have been excessive, or unwarranted, especially when compared to some other (mainly competitive) gaming communities.

I did, same as you. Early on too. These devs have been pretty ok in my book since the Battlerite days. A game I've always hoped would gain more traction. Perhaps this one has more staying power.

It's not bombing if people have legitimate grievances. Reviews are there to review the game, which sounds tautological but it needs to be said. If a developer, or in this case publisher, decides something I do not agree with, a review is a very valid method of complaint and a way for me to tell others to be wary of these practices.

I also disagree with the sneer towards the community. These changes are anti consumer and I think people in general are finding it harder and harder to swallow. You see the same responses elsewhere. Helldivers was considered the non corporate diamond in the rough so this stung just a little more than others.

Helldivers has no meaningful skill floor or skill ceiling you need to overcome or reach to start playing the game. Its hierarchy is flat. The difficulty scaling is slow enough you get used to it as you unlock the higher difficulties (not hard to do either) and you always have full control what difficulty you want to play at.
You'll unlock a couple of things of things relatively early that may be a bit better than the starting stuff, but even the starter gear is viable.

Aside from (mostly) unintentional friendly fire, there is no PvP in this game so you won't be spawncamped by a day one sweatlord with maxed out gear. If anything, this game is a breath of fresh air in how it seamlessly manages to get people to cooperate towards the common goal. Even out of game when one particular corporation needs to have their grabby claws slapped.

Unique game, decent to good community, healthy monetization (all optional, no FOMO, all earnable in game), consistent content stream.

    It's a contender for GOTY.

Which is not a complaint, mind, this is a fantastic game and everything that's already there is pretty stellar, but it's just unfinished. What happens is that you hit the point of no content and it made me just hope there was more.

I've had one successful run and quit. This is going to be great down the line when it nears 1.0.

    Enjoy!

Exactly my point. If there are no laws, or no enforcement of laws, there is an incentive to abuse the service.

Of course, but it just makes me so mad that you can swindle at the level these organisations operate at.

A low level con artist scamming a person or two is bad, but this is entire sectors of business unscrupulously coaxing people out of their money.

Law in my country (at least ostensibly) operates on "societal normative reasonability and justicial equity" meaning this wouldn't even need specific regulations to tell businesses to knock it the hell off.
That cultural feeling of "just adhere to social standards (you cretin)" permeates society so much that I don't expect businesses to so grossly misappropriate first responders if a home for the elderly needs to shirk liability. Yet.

Spirit of the law means nothing to business owners in America does it?

Because you don't call firefighters to lift someone up is why. Because it's cheaper shouldn't even be on the radar.

I honestly, legitimately, do not understand how you can even ask that question. Why shouldn't they? Because they shouldn't. You went into the business of taking care of the elderly, so you do. This finagling out of responsibilities to save a penny is reprehensible.

I'd be so mad if I saw an article on this in my own country and I'd hope the law would punish that behavior right quick.

Ps. I understand it may sound like I'm attacking you in the third paragraph, I'm not.

I don't ask for an extension of the signing bonus, I agreed on that timeframe already, but usually at the end of my contract I reach out to their retention team and ask them what they can offer me to stay. I always have to point out that the signing bonus is better so I'll consider leaving anyway until voila, they suddenly have that offer on the table.
