Great little video - I love seeing ambitious and creative nerds chronicling their journey into the past.

If you enjoyed this video, I suggest you check out other videos on MattKC's channel, they're all great and have a similar vibe to this

I watched this video and was about to post it again. It's interesting and entertaining. The presenter is very good at making it understandable to people that are not in computer science like me....

And oh, I'm the perfect audience to the whole noir parody!

If only YouTube's recommendation algorithm could figure out that these are the videos I want to see. I have a good list of subscriptions and have been on the site for years, but they haven't realized all I want are 20 - 60 minute videos that took someone months to make focusing on some technical niche.

I ended up just disabling their recommendations (and incidentally, Shorts) by disabling watch history.

Crazy to think I was mad when YouTube rolled that out as a way to force people to re-enable watch history. I held firm purely out of spite and now my screen time averages multiple hours less per day. Those recommendations "that are really high quality and I love to discover" or that "I'd really hate to miss out on" turned out to just be an addiction causing more harm than good for me. I almost want to thank Google for forcing my hand lol.

This channel is absolutely one that stays for entertainment in my now heavily curated subscription list though.
