Jeybork Congrats is definitely the right response. :) I started noticing that almost everyone in my hobby group has Autism, and they talked about things like "stimming" that I had never heard of before....Congrats is definitely the right response. :)
I started noticing that almost everyone in my hobby group has Autism, and they talked about things like "stimming" that I had never heard of before. After some light research I learned that before the dsm V was released in 2013 therapists were encouraged to only pick ONE between ADHD and Autism. After 2013, the spectrum model was popularized and both can be diagnosed simultaneously.
The final push was when I found a link to www.ndtherapists.com on reddit. From that site I went to my state and searched the page for "audhd" because I figured if they use that term they would be up-to-date. One of the results was a PsyD that was covered by my insurance. She had me do a whole bunch of tests on my own and a 3 hour video call, and a couple weeks later I got a lovely 18 page psychological analysis.
Only problem now is it seems like the best therapists are pay out-of-pocket.

Jeybork Hey man I live near Seattle, would be happy to meet up at cafe vivace or whatever and hang out or whatever. I think I'm a similar age and might have some brain similarities too haha. Either way welcome to the area.
I help run a yo-yo club, we meet every month or so, if you're looking for the effective adhd/autism meetup haha

Jeybork I've known about my ADHD since the 90s, but as of Wednesday, at 38 years old, I'm also diagnosed with autism. How about that. What a trip.🤙I've known about my ADHD since the 90s, but as of Wednesday, at 38 years old, I'm also diagnosed with autism.

Jeybork This really sucks, but also, flying solo at 90 years old is wild to me. I don't know a whole lot about flying but I do know commercial pilots have to retire at 65.This really sucks, but also, flying solo at 90 years old is wild to me. All I knew is that the first listen blew me away, no context required.
I'm eager to dive into a few of the albums mentioned here to learn more about where D'Angelo drew from and who he has inspired.
Also, I can't BELIEVE the drums are programmed rather than live on "untitled". It sounds so natural!
It will probably be a good time. I always get super nervous meeting strangers in groups but I never regret it in the end. It's really nice to find your people and you can only find em by showing up. Best of luck
