    Working in an offline/air gapped environment, I do actually have to leverage these aspects of Android. However, the use case that I work in is so far removed that a special flag to enable it...

    Working in an offline/air gapped environment, I do actually have to leverage these aspects of Android. However, the use case that I work in is so far removed that a special flag to enable it really does sound like the best option.
