Hesitation Marks isn't my favorite NIN album, but it's one I can put on for almost any occasion and have a great time with and for that reason, it may be the one I listen to most frequently. Highlights for me are Copy of a + Came Back Haunted, Disappointed, and Various Methods of Escape, but it's really an album without duds for me.

Even if one were to grant raising Chris Rock's joke to the level of violence, surely walking up and hitting Rock in the face would be a disproportionate response? The argument that both are equivalent levels of emotional violence comes across to me as a smarter-sounding way to say "talk shit get hit." I find myself frustrated by these takes as well.
