    I had the good fortune to spend some time working at Buddist sites in Pakistan and Taiwan in my early career and it's so wild to see how different they are based on the local culture!

    Wow! Would you be willing to share what you were doing there? I know some Taiwanese Foguangshan Buddhists have gone to Buddhist sites in Pakistan for research recently which was cool. I cannot imagine how different those two places are.

    Chapter four was originally part of an earlier chapter, I am not trying to split discussion of the main group of monks and their actions against the later group of monks. The main group has a clear focus and similar timeline that is easy to compare. The latter individuals are sort of random in their goals and actions. As I type this out now I realize that is a point in itself—which may be an angle I could thus take.

    Chapter five has been a challenge because unlike all the other chapters the majority of sources for this chapter are more philosophical primary sources, which is not very helpful. So I am stuck discovering new material by literally knocking on temple doors or trying to dig up useful information from the philosophical texts, which again are not helpful. I do not have time to write up these monastics broader philosophies since no one has done it before and the clock is ticking.

    Two thoughts, 1) I dislike nothing more than people who become parents than act like people who do not want or dislike young children are insane. I would have a second child in an instant IF they could start at one years old. The newborn to infant stage is absolutely horrible and calling them cherubs is hilarious. They are a screaming, crying, pooping, never ending soulsucking machines that give you nothing back until one to two years old. They do then become the cutest thing ever. Saying people are crazy because they do not want to deal with no sleep for half a year to a year along with all the other BS is just coping I feel. I know this because I lived it.

    1. You are not supposed to have time to blog during early parenthood. If you did that would mean you are choosing a side hobby over your partner. It becomes much easier after a year.

Not an action. 对 works as well but also depends on the context, often repeating the question is a better answer. Typically one responds based on the question—你要跟我跑步吗？Do you want to run with me? 要跑 [I] want to run.

    AI is indeed careless. To put it simply, mega corporations racing to steal all the data they can, get users addicted to their free models, and then waiting to pull the rug forcing everyone to pay them all while destroying the environment, hurting tech prices, and affecting the global economy. Not to forget that it is a fact that AI code is demonstrably worse and is setting corporations and users up for failure by relying on thousands of lines of code with little coherent thought behind it.

    If one is going to make slop, just keep it to yourself as it is completely meaningless when anyone can make the same garbage.

    Ideas and objects made in this world can be considered beautiful because a human put part or all of their life towards its creation. Taking away any human thought and letting a corporation that just wants to use you do it it not a good decision.

    Finally, if one cannot be bothered to code the software then one very well may not be bothered with reviewing it for potential security issues.

    Does not sound careful or sufficient to my use or those with morals beyond a good enough (差不多) end result.

    What do you think about this? It adds an introductory sentence, changed she to who, then changed had taken to took to flow better. Not necessary but just trying to play with how it reads.

    I love the idea of one too few, I'm going to play with that. I read that and for some reason my head jumped to Klaus shaped box - a la Nirvana - which really makes no sense but I thought it was funny. It should definitely be a nod to the missing cat.

    Same idea I think! That being though she had so many cats she is missing the one that matters. That is coming from someone who loves cats but loves mine the most.

    And scary is kind of what I was going for.

    I bought an old Blackberry at a thrift store and I got to say the experience typing was quite bad. I cannot see this coming back. Just as the Blackberry movie portrays, touchscreens won for a reason.
