Thanks for posting this, I've been hesitant about posting in certain threads my different and controversial opinions after getting blasted by another user in another thread once. I would hate to spend a lot of time typing up a huge paragraph to explain my point of view and back up my points to only get attacked by ad hominem and/or get banned.

it really depends on what copy you get. I got the one translated by Gregory Hays. The notes it included in the beginning gave a great context to what I was about to read and made it that much more enjoyable. I love being able to pick it up and put it down whenever I want since it was structured as notes that Marcus Aurelius wrote for himself.

What got me interested in reading Meditations was reading "How to Be a Stoic: Using Ancient Philosophy to Live a Modern Life" by Massimo Pigliucci. It's a great introduction to stoicism. I highly recommend reading that before or after Meditations.

I'm having trouble staying interested though since so far every thing seems to be common sense for anyone who has any experience in software development.

no need to get defensive looks like you've got some personal attachments to github. People don't trust microsoft for a good reason.

You've listed mostly improvements to microsoft not github and the only clear improvement that you listed was to the billing, and linking that to the microsoft acquisition is quite debatable.

I don't hate microsoft I'm just cautious about trusting. I use Windows and many microsoft products. I just want to know what improved on github cause I use it for work everyday and I didn't notice any change / improvements.

So there hasn't been any improvements to github yet since the acquisition. I'm personally still not trusting microsoft, and all it takes is for a new CEO to come along to change the direction of the company again. I don't want them to get a foothold of any marketshares / communities for that very reason.

how has github improved under microsoft? I stopped using them outside of work after the acquisition was announced and I haven't noticed any changes yet at work.

my company uses F5's VPN client. it's pretty terrible and buggy. Multiple error prompts pop up and sometimes I have to attempt to connect multiple times before it will connect

As a former fan of the macbooks I'm finding it less and less justifiable to purchase a mac for that price. You can't upgrade / replace your own RAM anymore. Batteries are difficult to replace. They use a proprietary Hard drive connection now. The new keyboards are terrible. Yet the price is still so high. Only thing I still love about it that I can't find a good substitution for is their trackpad.

Razer on the other hand I love their shape and mouse clicks more than Logitech but I've spent more on shipping RMAing their mice than the actual cost of the mice themselves that I've sworn off razer products.
