Nothing against the Fate series, but I always found it a bit unfortunate that TM struck gold with it and focused on pumping out new Fate series for so long (not to mention Nasu Kinoko getting stuck with primarily writing FGO for 10 years).

As awful as his prose can often be, I think Nasu is a fascinating ideas guy and dig the deep lore stuff about magecraft, 'seeking the root', concealment of the mysteries, 'the five magics' and all of that. It's a fantastic setting and the shows outside Fate which really get into that crunchy stuff are right up my alley.

I've mostly ignored the FGO stuff, because they all seem to fall a bit flat...and I'm glad that seems to be winding down a bit. My favorites are easily the ones Ufotable worked on, and the El-Melloi Case Files (which spent more time on things like Mystic Eyes). I also watched Kara no Kyoukai, and they were pretty good overall.

The magecraft and root stuff are also something I like seeing, and I'd like more along those lines. Rather than just devolving to "Grail War with One Weird Change."

Adaptation of TYPE-MOON's VN about Nasuverse regular Aozaki Aoko.

    • Movie premieres this year
    • Animation by Ufotable (various Fate series, Kara no Kyokai, Kimetsu no Yaiba, etc)

For better or worse, it looks exactly like how you'd imagine.
