In the final stretch of all the shows finally after many weeks. And overall my thoughts at this point overall is actually pretty positive. It helps that I did the right thing and dumped some shows that just weren't interesting me, trying to force myself through a show always burns me out of essentially all anime real quick. Overall, I'm shocked that I have stuck with some of my throwback shows, that I'm still not loving but still interested enough in seeing where it ends up. Or maybe it is just the sunk-cost fallacy that forces me to at least finish them at this point. I'm slightly more disappointed with the currently airing stuff though. The quality of currently airing shows seemed like they could start off really strong, but by this point just feel like they are getting tired or lost focus. Pretty much the sole show that hasn't changed in Kaguya, but given the quality of the source and the studio creating the show it isn't unexpected. But anyhow, onto the various reviews that have gotten progressively shorter as the season goes on.

2020 Spring Week 9

Shironeko Project ZERO CHRONICLE Ep 9
If this were happening back on episode 3, I would be fine with everything. But being so far along in the show everything that is happening just disappoints me. It is unfortunately super obvious that we won’t be getting an enjoyable conclusion to this show at all, or even a good stopping point. They just don’t have enough time to build up the conclusion at all. So instead it will be an old fashion go read the source style ending which I just hate. While I feel like this show isn’t as bad as it was in the beginning, it definitely isn’t as good as I hoped it was going to develop into.

My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom! Ep 10
What was this absolute whiplash of an episode? I had to stop and make sure I didn’t miss an episode somehow when it started because it just felt so sudden and random to be jumping into this plot with no warning or build-up. And it really just kept getting worse the longer it went on. I have to just describe the whole thing as a rushed ending, or feeling that way when they realize suddenly, they need to finish up an arc but didn’t give themselves enough time to really build it up. So instead they just throw it in suddenly and hope everyone figures out what is going on.

It is a shame because I really am enjoying this show. It has been one of the better shows I’m watching this season, that to suddenly have this rushed feeling conclusion to the arc just taints the whole show. As always happens with rushed ends, and I never understand how it happens. Like they know how many episodes they have to build the story and where it ends, shouldn’t you build a satisfying conclusion to your story. Then figure out where you can stick and episode or two of random enjoyable filler.

Princess Connect! Re: Dive Ep 9
Just love a good old fashion beach episode. And when 99% of your characters are cute girls it makes the episode all that much better. It really is obviously a typical gacha-game summer special of course, you can see how it played out directly from the game. But none of this makes it a bad episode at all for me.

Afterall I’m not watching this show for some deep interesting plot. Or complicated and sophisticated story. I’m just watching it for some enjoyable characters and good-looking visuals. Sure, I would love a bit more story, but obvious that if I want that I will have to play the game.

Kaguya-sama: Love is War? Ep 9
This was such a smooth episode, all the animation just flowed and looked flawless. Even when the anime doesn’t cover things that I absolutely love. The animation quality and little additions added just make it so much better.

Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 Ep 7
Man, how is this the first episode thus far that I actually liked. It was one of those nice small self-contained episodes that I just enjoy. Nothing overly complicated, no complicated plot or overarching story, just a small story about the world. These episodes are some of the best parts of Ghost in the Shell and do so much to build the world and help understand what is occurring at the moment in it. I’m really hoping we get some more of these style episodes, and less dumb action plot that makes little sense.

2010 Spring Throwback Week 9

Night Raid 1931 Ep 9
Felt like this was a pretty powerful episode for moving forward various plots for people. But I just don’t know where they are going to end up at all. When the show first started, I thought I had some sort of idea how it would progress, but after the past couple episodes I just feel lost. I don’t have any idea where this show will end, especially with only 4 episodes left to wrap up the stories when I don’t feel like I fully understand what even is going on.

House of Five Leaves Ep 9
I’m excited to see the sister and how it changes the dynamics of the relationships. I didn’t expect them to be adding anybody into the show this late, but I hope it really changes things up and forces some changes in the final couple episodes. Also helps that I like the sister, she ends up being shockingly cute for this show with an art style I don’t really like.

The Tatami Galaxy Ep 8
The more I watch of this show, the more I really do want Watashi to just find a good happy ending. Each episode seems to lead to some kind of suffering for this poor guy, and he just can’t escape that suffering. Also, for a question to the show, I do wonder if they will actually explain what is happening to him that makes him repeat different realities and possibilities. Or if they are going to just kinda brush it off and work past it.
