What have you been watching / reading this week? (Anime/Manga)

What have you been watching and reading this week? You don't need to give us a whole essay if you don't want to, but please write something! Feel free to talk about something you saw that was cool, something that was bad, ask for recommendations, or anything else you can think of.

If you want to, feel free to find the thing you're talking about and link to its pages on Anilist, MAL, or any other database you use!

I finished watching Welcome to the N.H.K. I found the music for this so to be really fantastic. It's often very somber and works really well to set the tone of some scenes. Having the protagonist struggle with the same issues over and over again make the whole narrative feel pretty down to earth, hallucinations aside. The way social anxiety is depicted feels quite accurate, you can definitely tell a lot the story comes from the author's own experiences. I really like the way Misaki was treated in the final arc. She often came off as very manic pixie for most of the series, so it was nice to see her motivations explored.

Overall if you're looking for a dark comedy, NHK is pretty down to earth, though disturbing at times.

I started with Monogatari Series:Second season. After 3 monogatari series before this (Bakemonogatari, Nisemonogatari and Nekomonogatari), I can only say this series is very....different. There is copious amounts of fan-service, but the series never diverges from its core artistic way. There are loads and loads of dialogue and text to read, none of the usual character faces staring in wind for 3 minutes after 5 seconds of dialogue crap. There is so much happening, mostly via dialogue that I have to.pay attention. It is very refreshing, as a lot of things are trusted onto viewer to explore and enjoy.

If nothing else, I'll recommend to watch at least first series (Bakemonogatari) to get a taste of just how unique this whole thing is.

Is it anything similar to WataMote? If yes, it will probably hit too close to home for me..
