This talk I did last year at a local museum just got posted on their youtube channel! Other artists often ask me about my experience, so I'm glad to finally have a recording of my thoughts on it....

My talk is at around 2:45 - 25:54, and the rest of the video is a lawyer's talk about fair use vs. infringement, followed by our Q&A session with the audience.

I shared three experiences I had with infringement of my art. The first was a local case that was quickly resolved, the second was an international case that was difficult to resolve, and the third was an international case which I think was easy to resolve due to the success of the second case. The talk includes tips about assessing the viability of an infringement claim, posting publicly about infringement, and handling infringement that happens overseas. For context, I live in the Philippines and I've handled a few cases of infringement in the UK.

Coincidentally, I experienced another case of infringement just a week after I did this talk, but thankfully resolved it quickly. (It was with the same design too!)

I don't have much experience with public speaking and I'd also love feedback for how I can improve. I have stage fright and was really nervous preparing for this talk, so it was actually bit of a relief that the audience turnout was smaller than expected due to bad weather that day. 😅
