I took a bookmaking class at my college a few semesters back (even counted towards my Graphic Design degree) and ever since then I've been wanting to get back into it. I figured I'd give this paper notekeeping stuff a try and also realized it'd be the perfect opportunity to brush some dust off my bookmaking skills. I've got a very thin hardcover drying under a stack of books right now and a textblock waiting to be sewn into it.

Super chill hobby, and very flexible. You can make a book out of just about anything, can get really creative with it, too. In my class we had people making books out of old, dead vinyl records, license plates, I used a pair of small chalkboards for one of mine, and there's all sorts of cool papers and fabrics and materials you can use to craft covers. There's not a lot of creativity in cutting, folding, organizing, and sewing the sheets but it's great for keeping your hands busy while chatting or listening to audiobooks or podcasts or music and I personally find it very relaxing.
