    This is an incredibly sensationalist way to say that Finland is storing the waste from their reactors underground, just like how the US has been storing nuclear waste undergrad in New Mexico since 1999.

    The article is correct that this is technically different, since the US ended up cancelling the planned underground storage site for civilian nuclear waste, but it's not really a novel idea nor does it actually change anything.
