it's interesting to see the differences of approach in climate change advocacy right now between europe and the US. whereas in europe, you're seeing large, coordinated student walk-outs and protests, in america there's only been small protests, but those protests have been extremely targeted and have led to things like the green new deal being pushed into the mainstream. i know here in america there are protest movements like the ones in europe (extinction rebellion and earth strike come to mind), but they haven't really had the successes or the influence that targeted movements like the sunrise movement have so far, which i guess speaks to the lack of major protest culture in america and how hard it is to actually organize people here sometimes.
