A group of Democratic lawmakers sent a letter to the White House late last week asking for more information on this Climate Security Committee being set up by Trump after documents were leaked to the Washington Post showing the group was being developed seemingly to push an anti-climate change narrative.
I particularly like this line from the Senate letter.
Dr. Happer does not have the qualifications to serve on a working group that should be composed of climate scientists, if ti is to exist at all. Dr. Happer is an atomic physicist, not an expert on climate, and his statements on climate change have been repeatedly debunked by actual climate scientists. It is deply concerning that Dr. Happer appears to be spearheading the NSC's new efforts to undermine the consensus regarding the national security implications of climate change.
