I saw something like this in Santa Monica last week, but it was unaccompanied. It was crossing the street at a crosswalk and timed the light poorly. It went about 2 seconds before the light changed and ended up blocking traffic for a few seconds. I’m not sure if it was autonomous or remote controlled. It could certainly be useful, but they definitely need to work on that timing and I don’t want to see sidewalks and streets clogged up because of these. I also wonder if they’ll eventually start getting attacked or stolen. I guess we’ll see.
