Nintendo's legal crusade against RomUniverse wasn't aiming to wring millions out of a rom site. It was instead done to make an example of those who try to preserve old Nintendo console games and host them in a format appropriate for the digital age.

I'd be fine with Nintendo's devout protection of their intellectual properties if they made their back-catalogue of games readily available for a reasonable price... Almost like a Virtual Console service, like the one that existed during the Wii and Wii U eras. The Big N's ass-backwards logic of not making past VC games backwards compatible and accessible on newer hardware just boggles my mind and it's one of my many grievances with the company. I could list these grievances in further detail but then this would read more like a master's thesis on why Nintendo suck.

For me Nintendo have increasingly turned into villains over the years. One day this will bite them in the arse so hard that they risk going the way of Sega.

That's why I've been hoping for the Steam Deck to take significant amounts of Nintendo's handheld market share, why I'm cheering for Nickelodeon All Star Brawl to completely eclipse Smash Bros, why I've supported competitors to popular Nintendo titles such as Temtem, Axiom Verge, Oceanhorn and others, and why I'm praying for Nintendo to either change course or die. Because their level of arrogance is giving 90's Sega of Japan a run for their money.
