[Language Learning] Telegram groups for practicing languages

I'm an user of group of chat groups called Polyglossia Network, where you can speak with both native and learners from a given languages (and it has lots of languages)

So if you wanna join, just send a message to @polyglossia_bot (PG's bot) on Telegram and click "Group Links", it'll show you links to every group. I'll leave a list here with the groups from more popular languages just in case, but it might get outdated as sometimes links are changed (to see the full list, send a message to the bot @polyglossia_bot)

I am in the Spanish groups as a learner and in the Portuguese groups as a native who help out others. I don't participate in the English group because I already get enough practice in the internet as a whole haha

What motivates you to seriously learn a language? Everyone wants to be multilingual, but few actually take the effort to learn one.

Learning a new language opens a whole new world to you: you'll meet people, cultures, music and a bunch of other stuff you'd never do otherwise. I learned Spanish recently and met a bunch of people (online) I'd never meet otherwise, many of whom don't speak either English or Portuguese; I listened to music from Chile, Argentina, Mexico and Spain; I watched Youtube channels in Spanish... It really broadened my horizons

I know since English is the international language you might think there's not much benefit in learning another one, but there is

English is my second language :) However I learned it out of necessity, not as a hobby. I have tried to learn french, but I lacked the discipline and interest to continue. The gendered nouns and conjugations really tripped me up, especially since those didn't exist in my native language - chinese. I respect multilinguals, but two languages is enough for me.
