As for the paper itself, I'm not a fan of how similar to a New Yorker article it seems. It's properly cited and makes interesting statements (even if it stops short of entirely explaining what exactly Volkerpsychologie and German communal society looks like), but academics ought not to be polemicists. So says me, some rando, which means it's a supreme truth.
