    The organizers previously postponed Burning Man’s main ticket sale, which was scheduled to begin Wednesday, April 8, saying they were going to gather more information before deciding to proceed with the festival.

    Organizers said they would provide refunds to those who bought tickets for the annual event, though they asked people to consider donating all or a portion of their ticket value to the Burning Man Project to keep the organization afloat.

    The Burning Man Project letter warned that as a result of the cancellation, the organization will have to go through “substantial staff layoffs, pay reductions, and other belt-tightening measures.”
