I think the author is a bit uncritical of military coups but the piece is quite interesting. I didn't realise that the French government had poisoned Félix-Roland Moumié (an anti-colonial figure in Cameroon) with radioactive material in the 1960s but I guess it fits with a trend of France carrying out state terrorism – for example they blew up a Greenpeace boat in the Port of Auckland to prevent local resistance to French nuclear testing in the Pacific.
