Very sobering reading. Is anybody else here with retirement savings or personal wealth doing anything new/different with that money to time the market/economy at all?

I moved everything from stocks to bonds in my 401K after the sharp correction back in February. I moved 1/3 back to stocks during the last correction (when the Dow was about at the same level as it was when I pulled it out). I'm staying out of stocks until I see another major correction. I never try to time the markets so this a first for me. Wish my luck.

If you really want to dig into what the next downturn might look like, Ray Dalio released a book called Big Debt Crises where he defines and explores the different type of economic down turns from history. You can get a free pdf of the book from his website [3]

I'm doing something different... Most of my friends don't have jobs with retirement plans or enough pay to consider retirement. Of the ones that do get paid enough, they're swamped with student loan debt and usually also another major loan.
