I do love me some six-stroke rolls and paradiddle variations. Although I think the most valuable part of practicing paradiddles is not the exact rudiment itself, but the way it gets one comfortable stringing together smaller parts of it (LR, RL, LRR, RLL, etc.) Hardly a gig goes by where I'm not improvising little paradiddle-like patterns for fills and/or grooves.
