    I saw this in Denver a few years ago, several painted pianos set up down the pedestrian areas for the public to play. Interesting idea, but it seems to me that the clock is ticking fast on their durability when you keep them outside (or move them inside every season). And they sound terrible, but that's not surprising considering they were old and cheap uprights before they were donated , and I doubt they have a service keeping them tuned throughout the thermal expansion/contraction they accumulate

    I think this is cool. Also it reminds me in some ways of a local annual event called Flower Piano that features both performances and free piano time in the botanical garden....
