What's your favourite Mountain Goats album?

I can't decide between All Hail West Texas and All Eternals Deck. Darnielle is so fantastic at his craft.

        Yeah it's a big catalog. Darnielle is a prolific songwriter. Most of the time he writes about other characters. The Sunset Tree is about his childhood with an abusive stepfather. The mostly upbeat...

        Yeah it's a big catalog. Darnielle is a prolific songwriter. Most of the time he writes about other characters. The Sunset Tree is about his childhood with an abusive stepfather. The mostly upbeat songs contrast amazingly with the heartbreaking imagery of the lyrics. It culminates with the haunting Pale Green Things, in which he tries to come to terms with his stepfather's death later in life. It's such a great album. One of my all time favorites.
