OP i feel the same, not sure what to say about this sub genre, that i never heard about up until now.
When i was a mere child i used to listen to [Thunderdome] (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aM-VLHZ6UcM) which i feel like is the 90s equivalent, or close to what i just listened to.
I Feel like the sounds produced here are more fit as a sound effect for perhaps a game, its more about the esthetics then anything else.

Reminds me quite a bit of Wanderlust by The Quick Brown Fox, the pitch and tone are eerily similar.
