Her first album named simply Melody's Echo Chamber after her stage name created with the collaboration of Tame Impala is to make it short, amazing.
It took her 6 years to develop a second album called Bon Voyage. Fans including myself had been worried about her because of the long time in between. I personally was curious as to why, not wanting to make any assumptions at all. I had almost lost hope when i first heard her new album had come out and rushed to put it on, i was confused at first, not that it was bad in any way, it was just so much to take in. All that inspiration over 6 years cramped up in a rather short album was probably the reason.
It´s one of those albums that are so complex i had to listen to it a few of times to really take it in. Let`s just say i was as far from disappointed i could get. The song Shirim will be another timeless song for me personally.
Listening closely i heard something familiar, something. A sound i have listened to countless times before. I started to look for more information on the album, and ended up watching a review on youtube. I got to know so much more about her, her accident which had led to some brain damage for example, which must have been one of the reasons as to why the gap between the albums was so long.
But also that she had moved to Sweden from her home country France. To my home country, my city and home, while the album was made. She had also collaborated with one of my favorite bands of all time Dungen.
This explained why i heard those familiar sounds i have programmed into my brain from listening to Dungen for all those years, defining my own taste in psychedelic rock where Swedish folk and 60-70s progressive and psychedelic rock was at the foundation of inspiration.
