I thought this was a really interesting (and unusually candid) interview with Mac DeMarco. He might not be one of my favorite artists but the guy is definitely one of the most interesting indie musicians in the scene. He reflects over his thoughts on social media, anxiety, depression, alcoholism, and his own character. I found this interview especially worth the read because it's always the case with "larger than life" artists that they are never the character they play. To me, it makes him much more likable compared to the persona his fans have given him. It really sounds like all the the dude ever wanted was to stay in the Vancouver scene and make music with his friends. It's a really interesting take from someone who plays sold out festivals. As for the Mitski controversy, I couldn't give less of a fuck and it sounds like neither him nor Mitski could either.
