If you're a long term fan of electronic music it's very likely that you've seen version 1 or 2 of the now legendary Ishkur's Guide to Electronic Music. If you're newer to electronic music and/or just deeply confused about the myriad of genres try this out.

After many years of waiting (and I'm guessing a colossal amount of work and research) version 3 has been released with updates not only of the overall genres, but also added a timeline, descriptions and search among other things.

You may not agree with the classifications and samples chosen but previous versions were a good high level overview of the seemingly infinite confusion of sub-genres and this is no exception.

I've already lost hours in there and will likely lose many, many, many more in future.

Crazy to see another new version of this - the guide is definitely legendary. Can't count how many times I've seen it recommended when someone asks about some electronic music genre. Every time I see this, I realize that half of the genres I thought I knew are completely different, and are usually mislabeled (at least on reddit, twitter, etc.).

Looking forward to spending way too much looking/listening to this.
