Honestly as a gigging musician, I'm not really embracing the new forms of live music. My plan has been to work on studio material and just wait things out. Granted, my livelihood doesn't come from music, so I'm in a much more comfortable position but even as a listener stuff like streaming shows doesn't sit right with me. I've tried watching a few streams of some of my favorite artists and it doesn't do anything for me. That, in no way, means I think people shouldn't be supporting artists who do it, but I personally don't see the value in it. There is just no substitute for being in a crowd of like-minded people listening to your favorite artist. I guess maybe this will help bring people who don't like the live concert experience into the fold since I know that's not everyone's thing. I'm just hoping this doesn't become a long time normalcy, I can't put my finger on it but these drive in and streaming concerts just don't do anything for me.
