I could've done with about 4x or 5x as many songs in that soundtrack, but the ones we got were spot on. Really conveyed a tone and sense of place for the game. I wish they had been able to snag an Elvis tune or two to complement the Kings' questlines and really bring home the Vegas aspect. Wayne Newton's voice role as the unseen DJ "Mr. New Vegas" is also worth mentioning. That was some inspired casting. Man I love that game...

I like Colter Wall and really liked Imaginary Appalachia. I also like big iron as a song a great deal. That said, this song doesn't really work that well for me. It sort of feels inauthentic coming from Wall, and doesn't really convey what I think Robbins was going for. I dislike Cash's version too despite liking a lot of Johnny Cash's music. Cash I think just brought a melancholy to the song that I think changes the song in a bad way. The cash version certainly deserves credit though for making a more suspenseful song.
Ha, goes to show the depth of my country music knowledge. I had no clue it was even a cover, so I didn’t have anything to compare it to. But yea, I’ve liked everything I’ve heard from Colter Wall.

I first heard this song in Fallout: New Vegas, and it's long been one of my favorites. Colter Wall's version is really, really good.
