While I am proud of my country's solidarity with Venezuela, Brazil is a violent, impoverished country that saw significant regressions since 2016. Many things that once felt in our past saw a comeback, such as famine, high unemployment, and overwhelming homelessness. By all means, come. But unfortunately, many of these migrants are leaving a bankrupt state for a life that will be only marginally better. If at all. And in our whitest states, they suffer great discrimination.
