ALQST, a London-based Saudi rights group, reported the decision involving Ghomgham’s case earlier this week.

A government communications office did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Activists said the trial was ongoing, and denied social media reports that the detainees had already been executed.

See previous discussion here, although it's good a more legitimate source has picked up the story. This appears to be yet another example of the unabashed depravity of the Saudi leadership. The activists' only "crimes" appear to be:

[...] “participating in protests”, “chanting slogans hostile to the regime,” “attempting to inflame public opinion,” and “filming protests and publishing on social media”, Human Rights Watch said.

At least Canada has started to push back against this reprehensible regime.

Yeah, that article was based on a deleted PressTV story, and claimed there had already been an execution. I assume it was Iran stirring the pot, seeing as there is zero confirmation of any execution. When an Iranian source reports on Saudia Arabia, and vice versa, I tend not to trust the information I'm being given, and don't take it at face value.
