Every time the topic of gun control comes up in the US, there's a predictable response which is "we don't need more laws, we just need to enforce the laws we already have". This shows what a farce that is. There's no interest in enforcing the laws we already have.
Isn't that true though? If we can't enforce the laws we already have on the books, what's to think that more laws will do anything except to hamper the law-abiding gun owner?
