I hate what our country has become.
Edit: a Fox News guest this afternoon spread the lie that these migrants are riddled with disease and "may have leprosy"

So it is possible that once these migrants actually reach the border in who knows how long, they may be arrested indefinitely, without cause, and without being brought before a judge.
While it is probably just a PR move for the impending Midterms, I have a bad feeling the Trump Administration is going to use this as an opportunity to see how far they can break the Posse...

While it is a PR move, it's also more than that. He is literally militarizing our border even further. This is another step towards normalizing abnormal behavior by the state if you ask me.

Huh. I haven't been closely following the news lately for my own health so I don't have a good overview of this, but it's pretty, uh, startling. The first image my mind jumps to is troops firing...

I mean, I can conceive of worlds where it makes sense to send our troops to help organize and protect a mass of refugees during a lengthy processing period. Set them up with reasonable shelter and necessities. It's a massive undertaking, after all. Sounds like something FEMA could help with. Or just do themselves. Maybe there are level heads involved with this who are intending just that. I could see where this might be partly a legitimate deployment. I mean, I'm not optimistic, just noting that it's in both the political establishment's and the media's interests to emphasize the most sensational divisive aspects of the narrative, and there are conceivably legitimate nonviolent uses for a large military contingent in this situation.
They're sure painting a picture here, though and with the people we've got running the show ... yikes.
Yeah, fair. I think millennials and gen Z etc have a real chance to change things though. There are more of us than boomers. Emphasis on the word chance.

Yeah, big emphasis. This is very much just my own opinion; but I've seen a larger demographic younger people become very vocal in support for Trump and similar nationalistic ideologies than I...

Teenagers don't have fully formed brains. Nor are any of them particularly literate in history (despite COD Nazi Zombies) My hunch is that has something to do with it.

I don't even know what to say to that.

People from this admin need to be in jail by the 2024 election or our country has no soul
Just wondering, what sort of soul do you see America having now if any?
