this is very unfortunate--pacific standard is one of the places that gets submitted here fairly often because they have some very good pieces on things that don't get covered very often. hoping that someone will swoop in and either save the site or otherwise save the 20 or so people who are employed there, but i'm not counting on it since american journalism is in a state of absolute meltdown right now.
Ah, I didn't immediately make the connection between the name "Pacific Standard" and their domain (psmag.com). They definitely have a lot of solid articles, this is a pretty major loss.

(i also didn't mention the 10 or so NPR layoffs because of their "reshuffle" which weren't huge but saw people get treated pretty shittily by NPR despite working for them for as many as 35 years!)
