    Somewhat relatedly, can anyone suggest any present analysis of the war in afghanistan? I was thinking about this article, and while I'm a semi-informed news reading person, I don't think I could easily describe the United State's war aims, what steps they have been taking in the past two decades, and how close or far away we may be to those war aims at this point in time.
