    As a non-mathematician with an abnormal interest in numbers, I downloaded Francis Perey's paper and am anxious to read it. This Atlantic article would make a fantastic movie.

    I've often thought that Kuhn's Structure of Scientific Revolutions is a groundbreaking book in the fields of Metaphysics and the History of Science. The story of Phlogiston is by itself enough to make us question so many of the scientific theories presented over the ages.

    I find this topic to be much related to the ideas of Nassim Nicolas Taleb, well known for his book The Black Swan where he argues about the fallacies of proof by induction. Thanks for posting.
