This is an interesting primer on recent developments between Armenia and Azerbaijan on the fate of Nagorno-Karabakh, a disputed territory largely inhabited by Armenians which is considered by the international community to be a part of Azerbaijan.

The 2020 war concluded decisively in favour of Azerbaijan, with the Artsakh Republic (the breakaway Armenian state in Nagorno-Karabakh) losing control of territory including the city of Shusha.

As noted in the article, it seems that border changes in the region have previously been associated with ethnic cleansing. According to Freedom House, during that war Azerbaijani forces fully or partially destroyed Armenian religious objects, including a cathedral.

One can hope for a tenable peace which respects the rights of minorities - but is it yet clear whether things are heading in that direction? I don't know much about this topic, but it's giving me the shivers. Over to you.
