DART (projectile launched by NASA) will impact the moonlet Dimorphos in 2022
LICIACube, a cubesat from ASI (Italian space agency) is flying with DART and will observe the ejecta created by the impact
Hera + the cubesats Juventas and Milani (ESA, European Space Agency) will fully explore the Didymos system in 2026-2027 to measure the crater size and characterize the properties of both asteroids. Only then will we know the efficiency of this deflection technique.
